There are days when you don't want to look like a diva. Days that are not about that perfect hair, perfect makeup and shiny clothes. These are those laid back, scary days when you've not slept or are hungover or just tired of doing nothing and would probably pick the first thing that you see in your closet. That freshly washed and ironed shirt which you most likely wore two days ago but you're just too lazy to stretch your hands that little extra to find something new.

Usually these are the days when my hair are on their worst behaviour and I normally rely on my Anokhi kurtas or my 'match me with anything' shirts. Oh how these shirts are the best thing ever. They are your silent best friends, always having your back. On one such day, I found myself being saved by my all time favourite light blue, cotton New Look shirt. I have worn it over jeans, trousers, shorts, skirts, it goes with literally everything!  I teamed it up with a hippie tie and dye Billabong skirt. Even though I tend to avoid wearing horizontal lines as they have a habit of making things look larger than they should but this one was quite subtle. Also because the darker colour of the skirt toned down the effect.

I've always had a thing for antique jewellery especially those banjaran chunky ones. You get some amazing pieces at the Janpath market in New Delhi for quite good deals. I love this old coins necklace and double loop ring that I bought from there recently. It actually jazzes up a boring outfit quite effortlessly. Whats great about these pieces is they are rustic and stunning. 

To break the blues, I wore my new Jord watch. It's made out of wood and the beautiful wine colour just adds a little hint of warmth. Has it ever happened with you that you have way too many events to attend in a single day? Well it happens to me all the time and sometimes it's almost impossible to come back home and get dressed in time for the next one. So a lot of times I carry my changes with me and believe me it is the most annoying thing ever. It's like carrying a mini closet with you everywhere. This blog post is well.. going to change that.

It is very important to pack wisely otherwise either you're gonna mix and match everything wrong or end up packing a lot of things unnecessarily. I tried keeping both the outfits very simple without much fuss. Keeping the main element as the skirt, I paired everything around it. This is a Forever New jacquard skirt that can be worn for the day as well as night because of it's gorgeous colour. I honestly love beige, it goes with everything so well!

During the day, for a media event I wore it with a white crop top and paired it with an overthrow as the crop top is body hugging. These lovely H&M feather earrings also easily match with both the outfits. For the day I also sported my glasses for that nerdy look and wore the elegant Daniel Wellington bristol watch that complemented the overthrow.

Two things that are heaviest to carry are the shoes and the bag, so try keeping them the same instead of matching new ones with the other outfits. Wear comfy shoes that last you the whole day. If you are going for heels, then go for wedges. They look good irrespective of what time of the day it is. The bag I've chosen is actually a Betsey Johnson IPad case bag. During the day I use it to carry my IPad for the meeting and at night I use it as a clutch bag.

For the night, I tried keeping everything the same and just swapped the crop top with a darker top. This wine coloured top is perfect for a ladies night out. Its so delicate with minimal patch work on the shoulders. Just threw in a charms bracelet for a little bling and there it is. A whole new look. Drinking plenty of water is the answer to most of our health issues and detox drinks have caught the fancy of my diet freaks. Here are a few simple recipes you can try at home and include them in your everyday regime.

This is a classic spa combination with cucumbers, lemons and mint. I have opted to put basil instead of the mint purely for taste. This drink helps to get rid of ammonia from the liver and kidneys and also improves digestion. Lemon helps you if you're constipated or have gas troubles.

One thing I absolutely love about the summer season is finding excuses to indulge in buying swimwear. Be it for your casual swims or for a holiday to the beach or if you are like me it will probably be just to hang it in your closet till you find the perfect occasion to wear it. I've been wanting to wear my high waisted bikini set from a long time, before the summers go away and haven't been able to find the time and just like me a lot of people don't get to use their swimwear that often. So I decided on doing a post with mixing and matching a bikini top in an outfit that you can wear on a daily basis. Sounds crazy? Maybe not.

The idea is to wear your bikini top as a crop top or a bralet and team it with other things. Since my bikini top is a halter, there are two ways you can style it. One pairing it with a sheer top or a cape, which is perfect if you're at the beach and the other is wearing it under a shirt or light jacket. I teamed up my striped bikini top with a polka dotted, cotton shirt from Zara. The shirt is a recent buy and should be still available at the store. Print on print gives it a contrast and also a nautical effect. I wore the shirt with a knot to quirk it up and go the retro way.

Since it's a day look, go for bright colours instead of your boring blue jeans or trousers. Remember how the coloured pants trend was a rage two years back? Dig into your closet and find those flashy, flamboyant pants and give them a try. Team it with a neutral coloured belt as the pant itself is really bright. Always remember to wear a belt if your pant has belt loops. You can team this whole look with flats or wedges to keep it comfy.

I think I am quite obsessed with fringes this season and you will be seeing them a lot in my upcoming shoots.
